Cavalli Estates · San Luis Obispo

Our story

Gio and Lisa started Cavalli Estates in 2021. For these two San Luis Obispo locals, the idea was simple: a place in the countryside where family and friends could spend time together.

Started by two San Luis Obispo locals

San Luis Obispo is home for Gio and Lisa. They know the countryside here, and wanted to share it with people coming for a family holiday, a reunion or a few days with friends.

Cavalli remains locally owned and run. Today, it brings three vacation homes and a working lavender farm together on more than 137 acres.

The land around the homes

Open fields, rows of lavender and trees stretch towards the hills. There is more to Cavalli than the houses: the surrounding land is a large part of what brings people here.

The lavender fields are still cultivated. Elsewhere on the estate, horses have their paddocks and ponds sit among the trees.

Three homes for time together

The Ranchhouse, The Villa and The Vineyard House each have their own setting. Whether you are bringing several generations of family or catching up with friends, a home to share gives everyone somewhere to return to after a day out.

You can see the rooms, outdoor spaces and details of each home on our stays page. If you are deciding between them, get in touch and tell us about your group.

Lavender is grown here

Fifteen acres of the estate are planted with lavender. The farm grows 17 varieties in Edna Valley, with rows of purple flowers beneath the surrounding hills.

You do not have to stay at Cavalli to take a little of the farm home. Lavender bundles, posies and other products are available through our retail and wholesale shops.

Beyond the houses

There are horses to spot in the paddocks, ponds beside the trees and views across the fields. These are some of the places you will see in our photographs, and part of the countryside around the homes.

If you would like to visit the farm during your stay, ask us about arrangements when you enquire. We can help you plan your time here.
